When it comes to a long distance motorcycle trip, you want to get all the help that you can get. Here are three apps to help you get on your way and stay on your way.
None of the apps listed in this article are sponsors as of the writing on this article. I only listed the apps that I have used in my travels.
Waze – GPS, Maps, Traffic Alerts & Live Navigation
If you want to get on your way, avoid traffic, police stops and construction zone, then you’re going to love Waze. While Waze is great at helping you avoid certain encounters, it’s also able to help you find places to eat, park and sleep. This is one app you want to keep at the top of your list when you’re traveling from state to state.
Storm Radar: Hurricane Tracker, Live Maps & Alerts
The Storm Radar app is another handy app that you should keep with you. It will help you visualize the weather over the next 8 hours. This app can help keep you out of the snowy mountains of Colorado or the various Texas storms that are brewing.
GasBuddy: Find and Pay for Cheap Gas and Fuel
The one thing we all need to do on our long rides is to fill up. With Gas Buddy, you can price compare the gas stations close to you in order to fill up your hog with the premium gasoline that you ride demands.
These apps are the top three I would use for any ride that I find myself on. I want to stay dry, I want to ensure I’m not going to hit unwanted traffic events and I like to fill up on a budget.
I hope this helps you get out there for a fun and safe ride while not breaking the bank on your fill ups.
